We are very excited indeed to welcome you to attend our brand new Y5 open day event. It will take place at The Crossley Heath Grammar School on Sunday 6th September at 2.45 pm. The first part of the session will be a meet and greet the teacher with a Q&A session. This will be followed by an in-depth baseline assessment that will be shared with your main class teacher; this will ensure they are aware from the very beginning of any areas of concern or indeed children who will need to be stretched and challenged from day one. Some of our children have been attending classes since Y3. The bookings for Y5 classes will be open following the event. During the session you will be given a welcome pack which outlines course content and the expectations of our families for the year ahead. You will be asked to complete a questionairre and sign documentation relating to your commitment to the process. Year on year our classes have grown and the children reaching the standard across West Yorkshire Grammar Schools is unrivalled - around 3/4 of the new Y7 cohort (of 210 places) at Heckmondwike Crammar School attended our classes and over 100 of our 2025/26 children will be starting one of the Halifax Grammar schools.
